Yes that is what I heard. However, I think its an overreact as there many countries still use it with no compliance.. only Germany phased it out. Even France has not.

Our Gendarmes used the G36 in Afghanistan and there was no problems with it.

And these rifles are different from those used by the German army.

In fact,only the German army seems to have problems with it. Or is it because they have the first version of it ? @Bundeswehr
