being built in Germany*

Why do German taxpayers pay for nuclear submarines for Israel?
For atrocities committed against Jews, such as the Holocaust back in WW2.

Israel, US, UK Hold First Joint F-35 Exercise
26 June 2019

Exercise “Tri-Lightning” was a one-day defensive counter air exercise involving friendly and adversary aircraft from the three participating countries and consisted of active and passive air defense operations

F-35 stealth fighter jets from the United States, United Kingdom and Israel participated in a joint exercise over the eastern Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday.
The exercise took place during IAF week, marking 71 years since the establishment of the Israeli Air Force.

The drill, dubbed “Tri-Lightning,” was the first time in history that F-35 fighters from several air forces participated in a joint drill.

The exercise simulated survival scenarios and defense against varying threats from advanced aircraft, including the F-35 itself.

The IDF underscored that the exercise was pre-scheduled as part of the annual training graph and constitutes a unique opportunity for the joint training of the fifth-generation combat aircraft. Furthermore, the exercise enabled the cooperation between the air forces and the development of joint capabilities.

The Air Force maintains and continues to hold significant international training to strengthen future military cooperation, with an emphasis on advancing the F-35 capabilities, the IDF added.

IAF Chief of Air Staff Brig. Gen. Amnon Ein-Dar stated that the exercise was “the first international F-35 exercise, reflecting the close cooperation between the forces. International cooperation between Israel, the US and Britain reinforce common interests and new and exclusive capabilities in the Middle East.”

Elbit Systems has launched an autonomous multirotor Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS)
According to the company, the new micro-drone, called MAGNI, is designed to enhance the situational awareness capabilities of mobile forces significantly.

The lightweight (2.5kg) system can be deployed and launched in less than one minute from any combat vehicle, Elbit said. It includes a thermal payload, a communications suite (dual S-Band or LTE), an automatic coordinate tracking capability, as well as a built-in interface with Battle Management Systems (BMS).

MAGNI can carry payloads of up to 350g, has a range of up to 3km, a maximum operational altitude of 4000ft, and 30 minutes of endurance.
The new micro-drone enables vehicle-mounted forces at the squad, platoon, and company levels to gather beyond-the-hill visual intelligence during day and night, and seamlessly feed target information to command and control systems.

Israel orders Rafael Spike FireFly for IDF ground forces
4th May 2020

The Israeli Ministry of Defence (MoD) has placed an order for Rafael’s Spike FireFly loitering munition, which has been jointly developed by the company and the MoD.

Spike FireFly (called “Maoz” by the IDF) has been designed for combat in urban areas and can be deployed within seconds. It is portable, durable and uses a rugged airframe in order to withstand harsh environments.

Featuring a dual seeker, target tracker, homing algorithms, computer vision and a fuze with safety and arming mechanisms, as well as a ruggedised tablet-based human machine interface, Spike FireFly is suitable for operation by a single dismounted soldier.

Ran Gozali, executive VP and head of the Land & Naval Division at Rafael, said: ‘we believe the procurement of FireFly by the IDF will dramatically revolutionise the infantry doctrines in urban close combat, enabling precision engagement for the lower tactical echelons beyond line-of-sight.’

Each FireFly unit weighs 3kg and provides behind-cover precision attack capabilities.

House bill would reinforce Israel's 'qualitative military edge'
Oct. 5, 2020
By Ed Adamczyk

Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Legislation was introduced in the U.S. House which essentially guarantees Israel's qualitative military edge over Middle East countries.

The bill, led by Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill., calls for a commitment to Israel's qualitative military edge, a legislated U.S. pledge to Israel under the Arms Export Control Act.

"This bill strengthens that commitment and reminds the administration of its obligations under the law," Schneider said in a statement.

Introduced Friday, the legislation comes after Israeli concerns that President Donald Trump's administration plans to sell F-35 fighter planes to the United Arab Emirates.

Israel is currently the only Middle East country with the advanced fighter planes, and the UAE purchase could destabilize a balance of power, members of Congress have warned.

"With all due respect, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if Israel's the only country in the Middle East that has F-35s, that selling it to someone else no longer produces that qualitative military edge in the air," Sen. Bob Menendez, R-N.J., said at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Sept. 24.

Schneider was joined in submitting the House bill on Friday by two Republicans and 13 Democrats, which seeks to reaffirm the role of congressional consultation regarding Israel's qualitative military edge, a practice employed since the 1960s, in U.S. sale of arms, they said.

The bill would require the White House to report to Congress on how any arms sale would impact Israel within 60 days.

While not providing Israel with blanket veto power over U.S. sales, "Israel is our single most important ally in the Middle East, and Congress will not let any President undermine her security with unapproved weapons sales," Schneider said.

The Israeli army has introduced a new combat robot ROBUST M-RCV created by Elbit Systems. The M-RCV robotic vehicle is based on the BLR-2 platform and is equipped with an autonomous turret with a 30mm automatic cannon. The Elbit Iron Fist active protection system is installed on the ROBUST robotic vehicle, with its help, the robot’s radar detects missiles and shells and shoots them down with anti-missiles, the system is successful, but the radar radiation unmasks a seriously combat vehicle. In general, judging by everything that is installed in this combat vehicle, its price will be colossal. Complementing all this, UAV fire and flight control systems, a robotic autonomous operating kit and active and passive sensors for assessing the combat situation. The tank drone performs reconnaissance functions and is placed in a special capsule. The vehicle will also be equipped with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems' Spike missiles.

Hello Gabriel92! Israel certainly has a formidable armed forces in the region (no matter if they have been supported by the US) and are quite capable of defending themselves. Canada could learn a lot from them. Looking forward to seeing more from you. Cheers!:)

Canada has no immediate threats and being part of NATO there is nothing to learn from Israel.
