I always wonder how people like Gulalai Ismail flee Pakistan. What is our establishment thinking by not taking action against such characters.

this shouldn't be a complicated mystery. What's your guess?
Hint... it's always a commercial western airliner flight, out of one of the international airport of neighbor state.

I know that, I was asking that what are our institutions doing at such times

I'm sorry but Imran Khan openly declares Khamenai as his supreme Leader.
To be clear, I am also his supporter but he failed to take action on multiple occasions especially on matters of national interest like when Chinese showed their reservations on certain govt officials and also when Zulfi Bukhari was made to leave from MBS meeting

Everyone's priority in Pakistan is to ensure sustained income, as much as possible and as long as possible.
I don't think we will be financially stable with mega projects but we should work on capacity building of our institutions, tax collection from businesses (those who evade taxes), giving boost to local industry and cutting imports. If we are financially strong then we can have independent foreign policy.

SMQ is a wise man and best suited for diplomacy and such strong words against such a close ally coming from him, are definitely a state policy and on top of that silence from government further adds weight to it. This is not a case of point scoring or a minister losing his temper

What else can be expected from a man who is:

- Too eager to help Iran when pressure mounted on it.
- Whose gov offered counselor access to Kalbhushan thrice & went silent on him.
- Whose party is filled with handpicked PPP remnants.
- The only person who actually sabotaged the arrangements between NS Gov and KSA before Yaman war.

If anyone has forgotten then let me remind, talks were well underway without being discussed in parliament (just how it should be for such a sensitive matter) and IK came up beating drums about Pakistan getting involved again in Someone else's war secretly and demanded all the details to be made public, seek parliament's approval and was the loudest voice against Pakistan's involvement.

I see this being clearly ignored and trying to blame it solely on NS. But guess what? Saudi's or Chinese are not IK fanboys, they remember and definitely they would show no leniency against current government. Latter had shown its discontent already!

Lastly, I'm surprised for those who are surprised on KSA's strong stance, Oh bhai humein to Afghanistan bhi chittar maar deta hai aur hamaray moonh se awaz nhi nikalti. Phir Saudia ka to itna haq banta hai itna pesaa laga ker.. (being sarcastic - if that needs to be mentioned)

Do you need an answer to that one!!!.
No I think the politically astute way was to send in Bajwa so if some talking has to be done it can be done with some authority. This is a bit more serious than a high school argument.
A

It would have been nice if Pakistan FM came to Saudi Arabia to express his position with the Saudi authority in the first place. It would have been fruitful. Saudi Arabia stance on Kashmir has never changed and the country has supported Pakistan since its establishment as a brotherly Muslim country and was never late to extend hands to Pakistan. Jumping the gun publicly was a mistake. That is not how brothers deal with each other. What has Saudi Arabia done to be treated this way! Saudi Arabia fully understands the situation and aware of what is going on. Pakistan is aware of the diplomatic channels available at its disposal. Pull up the phone, give a call and come to a conclusion, very simple.

Hi,

Brother, we don't have any concrete evidence to KSA's arms twisting, that's why I said if they are. We are basing our discussion on presumed financial support of KSA for our recent military acquisitions from China and drawing conclusions based on such assumptions, these assumptions in entirety can be wrong.

But if KSA was financing these acquisitions and have now halted support, arm twisting is the least agonizing word to describe it, some will even argue the term blackmail describes it better and capture the essence of whole affair.

That is completely valid, anyone will react that way. But SMQ statement was directed towards the ineptness of OIC and KSA's lack of support for Kashmir cause vis a vis Pakistan. It can be regarded as unwarranted criticism but is it something against KSA?

I don't think that SMQ's statement should be taken in isolation or in a vacuum. If he is saying something deemed against a country like KSA, it is with tacit support of PM's office and GHQ. I believe he's been made a escape goat, he was asked to say things which neither PM nor COAS can say directly, but wanted to convey. The way all the journalists (who are deemed close to establishment) have reacted to and covered his statement, tells a lot, specially if you go through their private Vlogs.
Ah the feeling of entitlement, when you dont support KSA on Yemen, it is fine, but for some ludicrous reason they have to support you. Why? When have you actually stood by them, that they should now support you on anything.?
