General Electric has won $707.3 million to supply F110 engines to power F-16 fighter jets of Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Taiwan.

The contract includes F110-GE-129 engine production, provision of installs and spares and modernized engine management system computers, the Pentagon said in a statement Tuesday.

For Qatar, the engines will power the twin-engined Boeing F-15QT.

“These actions involve Foreign Military Sales to Slovakia, Bulgaria, Taiwan and Qatar,” the statement read.

Work is expected to be completed by December 31, 2026.View attachment 12453

LM had made the offer to India to move production line to India if they ordered 100+ F-21.
I was more joking. Since the 62b order is to keep US jobs alive It is a US Gov Order directly to LM, so no chance of getting production line in Kamra. However if you have a big enough order, we may get MRO facilities.
TuSAS can be a backup for us for GE based engines.
62 $ billions means india not buying F21 if PAF go 50+ numbers then good chance for MRO facilities. PAF should get as many as they can it's high time for shopping in US Arms market IA fingers crossed not only vipers we get more goodies too

India will never get F 16...... this article explains it all :

Sadly, given the hodgepodge of equipment the IAF operates, almost none of which talk to each other, the IAF simply doesn’t understand networked warfare, nor does it care. Stuck in the 1980s’ mindset, the IAF still believes in kinetics while the rest of the world has moved towards electronics. The simplest explanation for this is the scene from Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark, where an Arab swordsman comes around flaunting his sword skills and Indy simply shoots him with a revolver. Here, the IAF is the Arab swordsman, who thinks a better sword could have won him the battle, instead of transitioning to a revolver; Lockheed Martin is the revolver salesman, who futilely tries arguing with the swordsman to give up his sword for the revolver.

You made me laugh... not only that but Lockheed never intended to move production outside America especially when they are still getting so many orders. Imagine the political fire storm if they dared to move....

On the lighter note Indians are working hard producing wings for our new F16s at their TATA plant in India !

Have the wings been outsourced to them, I thought South Carolina objected, and it didn't happen?

Maintenance of this engine any issue for PAF or it would be ok? What Urs take on total tally?

No issues at all, for dusty / sandy climate, it is much better than PW.

Thanks dear brother.
We Pakistanis are split entities, not a nation. Our loyalties are with our individual entities and we don't care about ethics while defending these entities.
But we do quickly register equally harsh replies from others and forget the law, "every action has equal and opposite reaction".
