I like many other hope that the expected "eventual peace" in Afghanistan may occurs before the EVENTUALITYPeace process will start eventually

Very well summarized but that's the case with most of the countries, look at India and USA as an example. Just few days back it was howdy modi rally where Trump and Modi addressed the crowd but then there was no agreement on the FTA. Turkey was very vocal in UN against Israel but recognizes the country and is an active business partner. Iranian parliament passed a resolution in favor of Kashmir but did not utter a word in the UN. It's a very complex situation, I have always said that in international relations there are no friends. There are many Differences/undue expectations/ confused and undecided approach between Pakistan and USA still exists on many issues specially in context of Afghanistan peace process; you can clearly get the felling of this when IK in his press conference in NYC clearly stated that he came to know about the refusal of peace agreement though the tweet of Trump
It seems both sides still have trust deficit and no clear future direction, for example
- US was the cosponsor against Pakistan and also voted against us in FATF, but at the time of last review one of their team was in Pakistan to facilitate us to prepare our response
- We were asked to have meeting with Modi in NYC but no act of facilitation by Trump was undertaken to relive the current Kashmir situation though in past visit of IK as well as in present visit in more than 2 occasions he offered to mediate for Kashmir
- Trump during media talk after his meeting with IK said that mutual trade would be triple in future but no FTA or Preferential trade agreement is in negotiation
So without saying anything more I believe we can assume that currently further deterioration of Pak-US relation has stop but factors that may strengthen the relations are still missing
@Khafee does not have a crystal ball to predict the future, he is just telling the current situation and how things are proceeding. One must not forget that USA did not refuse us the F-16's the point of contention was who and how the payment was going to be made. If we had hard cash at that time we would have flown away with those planes.@Khafee raised the stakes toooooo high let's see finger crossed IA will be good news
Add bit more Ur country interest is Supreme protect like a jealous lover. PTI did good in one yr with proactive forgien policy Pak needs to go further engage isreal step by step will help Us long way in western capitals. Turkey is good example to follow for Pak in all domains to be progressive modern enlighten country with open heart for all.Very well summarized but that's the case with most of the countries, look at India and USA as an example. As an option, it is on the table. But at the bottom of the list.
bargaining chip for Typhoon?Su-35 is a barging chip for something else - not F16's
Tornadoes - was a hypothetical question.
JH-7 - MAYBE upgraded ones, again MAYBE.
We would still need spares, various munitions and training (especially for maintenance personnel). We may get the Tornados for free from KSA if we ask for them.
