Prisoners in the Philippines Live in a Hotel Inside Prison Cells

I mean the Philippines is not rich country but officials won't pass on any chance to earn a little on the side from thieving. Every time a Filipino hears the word "corruption", the first thing that pops into mind is the amount of 10 billion pesos. And apparently people involved were mostly high profiled politicians that include senators.

So these corrupt people in a lawless prison facility... sounds more like a vacation for them.

If you're a convicted drug lord in the Philippines, your cell is pretty much a hotel. Trip out this!

This is how messed up things are in the Philippines apparently. The judicial system is a joke there more than I thought in the US. These guys were even labeled as "high profile" prisoners. They are the celebrities inside the cells because they are drug lords.



The corruption in the Philippines is beyond that the UN had to warn them that if they don't stop with it, they will be dismembered from the UN! That's huge!

Well, it's not a Luxury Hotel look but to say the least, a shabby hotel indeed. There's a full bed set in there, a small television, a blow dryer, and a radio. Yes, It looks like they're vacationing at the local "pay as you go" motel. It's sad that the local government and prison was accepting this type of lifestyle in a jail setting. Their National Police had every right to impede on their living arrangement.

This is big shame. The management of the Bilibid should be investigated. By the way Davao is a great city in the Philippines and I agree peace and order in the city is quite commendable.

This is the result of corruption and the greedy for money. These people can be bought by even prisoners and so it speaks volume about their character. The persons in charge of the prison should be fired and charged. Prison is not a luxury resort and therefore prisoners should not be living better than people who are not in prisoner.

It looks as though prisoners there have a much better life than normal people here in the Philippines.

Yeah your right. It seems that the Philippine prison is just a vacation house instead of a penitentiary. Not only that can you imagine a convict having his own recording studio inside the prison and additional fact his album was certified gold and platinum. He even had a concert there. What a shame!

This is indeed a big challenge to the government especially to the Secretary of Justice. I hope reform will be implemented.

Wow this is so frustrating in how relaxed and lucky these prisoners are inside their cells despite the wrongdoings they did and the lives they destroyed. These are rich inmates who have the money to pay off everyone including higher officials for these things to be allowed inside the prison. It is so pitiful for those prisoners who are not well-fortunate, who are suffering in their shabby cells while these drug lords are enjoying their time. There should be equality inside the prison and no special treatment. It is a shame on the administration and officials who can easily be swayed by money and bribery.
