I think it's false flag though, nobody else seems to be reporting it. Why is NATO threatening Russia though? What is the plan here? Suddenly everyone is ready for all out war? Of course right when I become agnostic and my life starts to get better ....If I die a virgin, God better prepare me maidens in paradise. :D

Seems like Russia's intervention and Syrian army's advance have hit some's agendas... 2 weeks ago, nobody was talking about invading Syria, nor someone would have thought that Turkey would attack the PYD....
-
But it's funny that now everyone 'wants to destroy ISIS'.....

What is happening I just woke up! :D

Hungover? :D

......

It's getting pretty serious. Right now Turkey again renewed shelling of YPG on border areas. Also now AFP says Turkish army shelled Syrian army positions in Latakia. Turkey is claiming this was done in 'retaliation' and is all over. So seems like attempt to boost morale of opposition and warn Kurds.

Syria condemns Turkey shelling, urges UN action

Syria's government on Feb. 14 condemned Turkey for two days of shelling targeting mainly Kurdish forces in the northern province of Aleppo and urged the United Nations to act, state media said.

It also accused Turkey of allowing gunmen and weaponry to enter Syria from the Bab al-Salama crossing into Aleppo province, where government forces have recently launched a major campaign.

"The foreign ministry strongly condemns the repeated Turkish crimes and attacks against the Syrian people and Syria's territorial integrity," state news agency SANA reported.

The ministry called on the UN Security Council to "put an end to the crimes of the Turkish regime," SANA added.

The ministry statement said that on Feb. 13 12 pick-up trucks equipped with heavy machine guns and ammunition had crossed into Syria from Turkey via Bab al-Salama.

They "were accompanied by around 100 gunmen, some of them Turkish forces and Turkish mercenaries," SANA quoted the ministry as saying.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor also reported the arrival of a convoy of fighters from Turkey via Bab al-Salama into Aleppo province on Feb. 13.

"Around 350 Islamist fighters from the Faylaq al-Sham faction crossed from Turkey and entered the towns of Azaz and Tal Rifaat," said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman.

He said the convoy had originated in the town of Atmeh, in neighbouring rebel-held Idlib province, crossing from there into Turkey, before re-entering Syria through Bab al-Salama.

The rebel reinforcements come as an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militants push towards the rebel-held towns of Azaz and particularly Tal Rifaat, in northern Aleppo province.

The alliance, known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has also taken the Minnigh airbase from Islamist militants, and is now battling them for control of Tal Rifaat.

The advances have angered Turkey, which considers the Kurdish component of the SDF to be a branch of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

Washington, which has backed the SDF in fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group, has also urged the Kurds and their allies not to "take advantage of a confused situation by seizing new territory."

The SDF advance comes in the wake of a major push by Syrian government forces backed by Russian air power in northern Aleppo province.

That operation has left the rebel-held east of Aleppo city virtually encircled and prompted tens of thousands of civilians to flee northern Aleppo province.

Damascus: some Turkish forces enter Syria

Turkish forces were believed to be among 100 gunmen who entered Syria on Saturday accompanied by 12 pick-up trucks mounted with heavy machine guns, in an ongoing supply operation to insurgents fighting Damascus, the Syrian government said Sunday.

“The operation of supplying ammunition and weapons is continuing via the Bab al-Salama crossing to the Syrian area of Azaz,” the Syrian foreign ministry said in a letter to the U.N. Security Council published by state news agency SANA.

It said the pick-up trucks were “accompanied by around 100 gunmen some of whom are believed to be Turkish forces and Turkish mercenaries.”

The same letter also criticized Turkey for shelling areas of northern Syria. Azaz is north of Aleppo near the Turkish border.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told German Chancellor Angela Merkel by telephone on Sunday that Turkish security forces would continue to respond to attacks by the Kurdish YPD militia in northern Syria, sources in Davutoglu’s office said.

The Syrian Kurdish PYD party on Sunday also rejected Turkish demands that allied militia withdraw from positions near the border that are being shelled by Turkish army, and warned that Syrians would resist any Turkish intervention in the country.

The news comes after close sources to the Turkish government told Al Arabiya News that Turkey’s shelling against YPD forces killed at least 35 and injured 15 others. The sources also said that the Turkish raids targeted 19 positions mainly in the northwestern city of Aleppo in Syria.

Saleh Muslim, the co-chair of the PYD, told Reuters Turkey had no right to intervene in Syria’s internal affairs, adding that an air base shelled by the Turkish army on Saturday had been in the hands of the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front until forces allied to the PYD captured it last week.

France calls on Turkey to stop
France called Sunday for Turkey to immediately halt its bombing of Kurdish forces in Syria.

Echoing an appeal made by the United States on Saturday, France called for “an immediate halt to the bombing, both that of the regime and its allies throughout the country and that of Turkey in the Kurdish zones.”

France’s statement added that the priority should be the fight against ISIS and application of agreements reached by the major powers in Munich on Friday.

The shelling on Saturday came just a day after world powers announced announced an ambitious plan to stop fighting in Syria within a week.

Turkey shelling YPG positions
For a second day Sunday, Turkey shelled positions held by the main Kurdish militia in northern Syria, adding complexity to an inflamed situation in the area where Russian-backed Syrian government forces are also on the march, opposition activists said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activist group said two fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces - a coalition of Kurdish and Arab fighters - have been killed and seven others wounded in the shelling.

There was no immediate confirmation by the group, which is dominated by YPG fighters.

The group has seized a number of villages in the northern province of Aleppo near the Turkish border in recent days, and appears poised to move to the border town of Azaz, an opposition stronghold. That has alarmed Turkey, which considers the group to be an affiliate of the Kurdish PKK movement which it considers to be a terrorist organization.

Opposition groups said Saturday that Turkish troops fired artillery shells that targeted the Mannagh air base in Aleppo province, which was captured by Kurdish fighters and their allies earlier this week.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said late Saturday that his country’s military fired at Kurdish fighters in northern Syria in response to a provocation along the border. He said Turkish forces retaliated against a Kurdish faction “that presented a threat in Azaz and its environs” in line with the country’s rules of engagement.

He accuses YPG of carrying out “harassing actions” along the border.
