Looks like a camo uniform which he is not tucking in.

But, yeah, I don't understand why people active in battlefield dress in thobes. That's not adequate military dress.

I've no idea. But, may they prefer it because it's comfortable and allow them to carry many things in their pockets. Even you can run fast as much as you can !

Deadly airstrikes hit northern Syria as talks stall

Airstrikes hit several rebel-held neighborhoods in Syria’s contested northern city of Aleppo leaving at least 18 people dead Friday (April 22, 2016). The escalation added strain on a fragile cease-fire. Aleppo is Syria’s largest city which has seen sporadic clashes since the cease-fire took effect in late February. As government troops have advanced, boxing in opposition-held areas from all sides except for a corridor from the northwestern edge of the city.
