The United States and its allies staged nine airstrikes on ISIS targets in Iraq and four in Syria, the Combined Joint Task Force said in a statement on Saturday.

The attacks in Iraq hit ISIS tactical units, buildings, fighting positions, a rocket system and a facility where improvised explosive devices were made, the statement said.

The strikes in Iraq were near the city of Al-Raqqa and destroyed tanks and a bunker.

The airstrikes were carried out from early Friday to early Saturday.

300 Marines vs ISIS hordes parallels a historic event when 300 Spartans stopped the Persian army and would have wreaked more havoc had they not been betrayed. Give the marines air support and allow them to go after the savages and kill them all. But will Obama consider that? I think they will favor evacuation instead of going on the offensive.

Islamic State calls for terror attacks in France, Belgium | The Times of Israel

The Islamic State terror group on Saturday released a new video threatening new attacks against France and Belgium, a month after deadly attacks in the French capital by radical Islamists left 17 dead.

The nine-minute video in Arabic and French entitled “A Message to France” claims that Islamic State operatives are deployed throughout both European countries and await orders to commit additional attacks, specifically in Paris and Brussels, Israel Radio reported.

“Islamic State fighters are deployed everywhere and your nightmare begins now, along with the real war,” the Walla news site quoted the Arabic-language video saying.

The clip opens with recorded statements by French President Francois Hollande and former president Nicolas Sarkozy, followed by a segment from a home video of Amedy Coulibaly, the terrorist responsible for attacking a kosher supermarket in Paris last month, killing four and injuring nine.

A flag of the Islamic State is prominently displayed on the wall behind Coulibaly as he declares his allegiance to the group. Coulibaly was also suspected of killing a policewoman a day before the attack.

Following Coulibaly’s segment, two French-speaking Islamic State fighters wearing military fatigues implored Muslims throughout France to kill non-believers.

“I call on my brothers who live among the infidels in France: If you can not emigrate, act within the country. Kill them with the weapons that you have available to you. Spit on them, burn their cars, burn police stations; don’t take pity on them,” one of the men said.

In a separate interview published earlier this week in Dabiq, the Islamic State’s online magazine, Hayat Boumeddiene, Coulibaly’s 26-year-old widow, said she was incredibly happy to now be living among the Islamic State and spoke of her deceased husband’s desires to join his “brothers” fighting the enemies of the “Islamic caliphate.”
Hayat Boumeddiene , 26, is wanted by French police for her suspected involvement in siege at kosher market in Paris on January 9, 2015 and the killing of a policewoman in Montrouge on January 8.

“His eyes would shine every time he saw IS videos,” Boumedienne said. She said that “everyone” should study the life of the prophet Muhammad and praise Allah, and called on more women to follow in her example and join IS,” Boumeddiene said.

Boumedienne traveled to Turkey several days before the January 9 terror attack and presumably continued on to IS-held territory in Syria.

The idea of peace in the middle east doesn't seem to be something coming into play because overtime someone is stopped someone else just shows up starting conflict.

ISIS released a video on Sunday purportedly showing the beheading of Egyptian Coptic Christians the militants say they captured in Libya

Egyptians had protested earlier this week calling for the return of the kidnapped Copts

A video has emerged apparently showing the beheadings of 21 Egyptian Christians who had been kidnapped by Islamic State (IS) militants in Libya.

The footage shows a group wearing orange overalls being forced to the ground and then decapitated.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has said Egypt reserves the right to respond in any way it sees fit.

IS militants claim to have carried out several attacks in Libya, which is in effect without a government.

However, with many armed groups operating in Libya, it is not clear how much power IS actually wields.

National mourning
The kidnapped Egyptian workers, all Coptic Christians, were seized in December and January from the coastal town of Sirte in eastern Libya, now under the control of Islamist groups.

The video of the beheadings was posted online by Libyan jihadists who pledge loyalty to IS. A caption made it clear the men were targeted because of their faith.

"Egypt and the whole world are in a fierce battle with extremist groups carrying extremist ideology and sharing the same goals," President Sisi said.

In a TV address, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi condemned ''inhuman criminal killers''

The beheadings were described as "barbaric" by al-Azhar, the highly regarded theological institution which is based in Egypt.

The Coptic church said it was "confident" Egypt would exact retribution. Egypt has declared seven days of national mourning.

Libya has been in turmoil since 2011 and the overthrow of its then-leader, Col Muammar Gaddafi.

Since then, numerous other militia groups have battled for control.

The head of the US Defense Intelligence Agency warned last month that IS was assembling "a growing international footprint that includes ungoverned and under-governed areas", including Libya.

The five-minute video shows hostages in orange jumpsuits being marched along a beach, each accompanied by a masked militant. The men are made to kneel before they are simultaneously beheaded.

Most were from a poor village in Upper Egypt where some relatives fainted on hearing the news. A caption accompanying the video made it clear the hostages were targeted because of their faith. It referred to the victims as "people of the cross, followers of the hostile Egyptian church".

There's speculation here that Egypt may now consider airstrikes across the border. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has said in the past that militants in Libya are a danger not just to Egypt, but also to the Middle East.

Rival governments

Libya has two rival governments, one based in Tripoli, the other in Tobruk. Meanwhile, the eastern city of Benghazi, headquarters of the 2011 revolution, is largely in the hands of Islamist fighters, some with links to al-Qaeda.

On Sunday, Italy closed its embassy in Tripoli. Italy, the former colonial power, lies less than 500 miles (750km) from Libya at the shortest sea crossing point.

Italian Premier Matteo Renzi has been calling for the UN to intervene in Libya. Thousands of migrants use the Libyan coast as a starting point to flee the violence and attempt to reach the EU.

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond condemned the beheadings.

"Such barbaric acts strengthen our determination to work with our partners to counter the expanding terrorist threat to Libya and the region," he said.

On Sunday, President Sisi banned all travel to Libya by Egyptian citizens.

Despite the turmoil in Libya, thousands of Egyptians go to the country looking for work.

There had been demonstrations in Egypt calling on the government to do more to secure the release of those held.

Sisi calls for urgent security talks after ISIS beheading video

By Staff writer | Al Arabiya News
Sunday, 15 February 2015

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi called Sunday an urgent meeting of Egypt’s top national security body after ISIS militants released a video purportedly showing the beheading of Egyptian Christians in Libya.

Sisi also gave a television address, saying that Egypt and the world are facing “ferocious threats” hailing from radical militants, who are “devoid of any humane sense.”

He also said Egypt is “capable” of facing this menace, adding that Egyptians are no longer allowed to travel to Libya.

ISIS released a video on Sunday purportedly showing the beheading of Egyptian Coptic Christians the militants say they captured in Libya.

The footage released online shows handcuffed hostages wearing orange jumpsuits being beheaded by their black-suited captors on a seashore in the Libyan capital of Tripoli.

Egypt's state news agency MENA quoted the spokesman for the Coptic Church as confirming that 21 Egyptian Christians believed to be held by ISIS were dead.

Egypt also announced a seven-day mourning period.

Al-Azhar condemns ‘barbaric’ killing

Meanwhile, Sunni Islam’s top body, Al-Azhar, on Sunday condemned the “barbaric” beheading of the Copts.

“Al-Azhar received the news of the execution of a group of innocent Egyptians with great sorrow and grief,” Al-Azhar said in a statement.

“Al-Azhar stresses that such barbaric action has nothing to do with any religion or human values.”

Dabiq magazine

In the latest issue of ISIS online magazine Dabiq, the group said 21 Egyptian hostages were being held, and pictures showed a similar background.

The video, titled “A message signed with blood to the nation of the cross,” has a scrolling caption in the first few seconds saying it is directed at “People of the cross, followers of the hostile Egyptian Church.”

Sunday’s video comes just days after ISIS released a video showing the gruesome burning alive of a Jordanian pilot it captured after his F-16 came down in Syria in December.

The highly choreographed video showing the killing of Maaz al-Kassasbeh triggered global outrage.

In January, ISIS branch in Libya claimed it had abducted 21 Christians.

A spokesman for the Egyptian foreign ministry confirmed to AFP in Cairo that 20 Egyptians had been kidnapped in two separate incidents in neighboring Libya.

Badr Abdelatty did not say when they were seized or specify their religious affiliation, but said seven Egyptians and 13 others abducted separately in Libya “are still being detained” by their captors.

Italy closes Libyan embassy

In a related story, Italy closed its embassy in Libya on Sunday and stepped up its call for a U.N. mission to calm the worsening conflict there as thousands of migrants approached Italy by boat from North Africa.

Libya is unraveling, with two rival governments operating their own armed forces under separate parliaments, nearly four years after the civil war that ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi.

“The deteriorating situation in Libya made it necessary to close (the embassy),” Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said. Embassy staff have been sent back to Italy, the ministry said.

Egypt’s air force bombed ISIS targets in Libya at dawn on Monday, a day after the militant group released a video purporting to show the execution of 21 Egyptian Copts there.

"Your armed forces on Monday carried out focused air strikes in Libya against Daesh camps, places of gathering and training, and weapons depots," the military said in a statement, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

It was the first time Egypt confirmed launching air strikes against the group in neighboring Libya, suggesting President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is ready to escalate his battle against militants seeking to topple his government.

The military said the dawn strike, in which Libya's air force also participated, “achieved its targets accurately" and the pilots returned to base safely, the Egyptian military said, as state television ran brief footage of a fighter plane taking off in darkness.

In a statement to Al Arabiya News Channel, a Libyan air defense commander Saqer al-Joroushi said "more air strikes will be carried out today and tomorrow in coordination with Egypt."

Sisi had given a televised address, saying that Egypt and the world are facing “ferocious threats.” (Egyptian state TV)

In separate to Egyptian state television al-Joroushi said between 40 to 50 militants were killed in Monday's air strikes.

"There are casualties among the individuals, ammunition and the communication centres belonging to them," Al-Joroushi said. "The number of deaths are not less than 40 or 50 for sure," he said.

On Sunday, ISIS released a video purportedly showing the beheading of 21 Egyptians captured in Libya.

The 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians, who had gone to Libya in search of jobs, were marched to a beach, forced to kneel and then beheaded, according to the video, broadcast via a website that supports Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The United Arab Emirates, a close ally of Sisi, said it "would put all its capabilities" to support ... Egypt's efforts to eradicate terrorism and the violence against its citizens."

Security officials say militants based in Libya have established ties with Sinai Province, a group operating from Egypt's Sinai Peninsula that has pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Top security meeting

Sinai Province has killed hundreds of Egyptian soldiers and police since the army toppled Islamist president Mohamed Mursi in 2013 after mass protests against his rule. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi called an urgent meeting of Egypt’s top national security body after the video was released.

Following the release of the video, Sisi had given a televised address, saying that Egypt and the world are facing “ferocious threats” hailing from radical militants, who are “devoid of any humane sense.”

He said his country reserved the right to “punish these murderers” as he called a meeting of security chiefs and declared seven days of mourning after the video was distributed by militants on social media.

The Egyptian President also headed on Monday to a Cairo cathedral to offer condolences to the church on slaying of the 21 Copts.

The Coptic Orthodox church earlier said it was “confident” that those who purportedly beheaded a group of Egyptian Copts in Libya will be punished.

“The Orthodox church ... is confident its homeland would not rest until the evil perpetrators get their fair retribution for their wicked crime,” the Coptic church said in a statement on its Facebook page.

The footage shows 21 handcuffed hostages wearing orange jumpsuits being beheaded by their black-suited captors on a beach the group said was in the Libyan province of Tripoli.

Meanwhile, French President Francois Hollande said he has agreed with his Egyptian counterpart that U.N. Security Council should meet and take measures over the situation in Libya.

The United States has condemned the beheadings, saying: “The United States condemns the despicable and cowardly murder of twenty-one Egyptian citizens in Libya by ISIS-affiliated terrorists,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said.

“ISIS’s barbarity knows no bounds. It is unconstrained by faith, sect, or ethnicity,” Earnest added, saying the latest bloodshed “only further galvanizes the international community to unite against ISIS.”

“This heinous act once again underscores the urgent need for a political resolution to the conflict in Libya,” Earnest said.

Black, I concur with you that they are not holding to the Islamic teachings from what I have read about the religion. However, they are declaring themselves Islamic from what I have seen at the same time. That is what is sad, which is reflecting negatively on all the Muslim community.

I can claim to be a christian and acting the way ISIS does in the name of Christianity but does my action reflect the teaching of Christianity? I don't think so. Same apply to ISIS. Those baboons are acting in the name of Islam but they don't represent the teaching of Islam at all. As Islam says, if you ever kill an innocent person as if you have killed all humanity. So far, all Muslims communities, scholars, organizations..etc have come up and spoke against ISIS and their sick ideology. Muslims countries like Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates are part of the US led collation against ISIS.

Jordan recently lost one of their pilots to isis who was burnt alive. Hundreds of Muslims are being killed by the day by ISIS. What they do/did/done have no basis in Islam and doesn't represent its message and teaching.

There are reports that they kidnapped another 35 Egyptians.

They are fucking sick in the head man. I saw the video. It was very very disturbing to the point that I couldn't really sleep comfortably. Did you see how ISIS slaughtered them like sheep in the day of Eid.
