Is the Chinese JH-7 an Answer to the Pakistan Air Force’s Deep Strike Needs?
Despite its potent display of combat capability during the Balakot standoff, the PAF requires additional platforms to balance against a much larger Indian Air Force.

What could be the estimate cost per piece with

1) New Aesa, which one btw? For ease of maintenance and cost effectiveness same as jf17's klj7 aesa?
2) New engine?

Furthermore, what might be the lifetime of these jets, at least 2-3 decades?

MK it's been such a long journey. Ah, those days you were ridiculed, chided, insulted, attacked in every way possible, including by mods, who would silently allow such attacks and even engage themselves in attacking you. I played a tiny role too - but I think the argument eventually got through to the PN, who had till then only relied on the PAF for fighter aircraft acquisition expertise.

This is the value of an open forum where all opinions and ideas are allowed to be discussed without censor. The best ideas win. And when those ideas get implemented into policy, it changes the world, and gives one's own group a competitive advantage against other mindless zombie nations.

Spey engine:
  • Length: 204.9 in (5204.4 mm)
  • Diameter: 43.0 in (1092.2 mm)
  • Dry weight: 4,093 lb (1856 kg)

WS-10 (based on data of AL-31 which is very close / similar):

  • Length: 4,945 mm (194.7 in)
  • Diameter:
    • 905 mm (35.6 in) inlet;
    • 1,280 mm (50 in) maximum external
  • Dry weight: 1,520 kg (3,350 lb)

My guess would be WS-10
Then there will be engine commonality with J-15P & J-10P. Hope PAF/PAC will pursue for inhouse maintenance/overhaul.
1). Can someone confirm that with all these Chinese Jets in PAF, which weapons will be common among them with JF-17.
2) Can someone shed some light on the AESA Radars on all three jets i.e. J-15P, J-10P and JH-7P. Are they same radars with or different and their specs

Point is if they all have these things in common, then they will much cheaper to operate, maintain and training of staff will be easier.

Sizewise seems possible, but will it remain effective for low flying with WS10

Common engine in J15, J10 and if JH7 will give alot of reduction in maintenance cost and infrastructure
