Understandable but he described AK2 as 3rd gen and Haider as 3rd gen which "can" be considered 4th gen. So his words convey that both would be inferior to VT-4 since VT-4 is recognized as 4th gen.

Or I could just be misunderstanding his thought process.

Altay or k2 black panther can be called advance 3th gen (4th gen tanks).. its like investment in next gent

On Thursday, General Dynamics Land Systems unveiled its light tank candidate for the service's Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) program during a visit from Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy to the defense contractor's Detroit facility.

The Army had previously selected GDLS and BAE Systems in December 2018 to deliver 12 MPF prototypes apiece to the service for operational testing and evaluation under two rapid prototyping contracts that totaled more than $750 million.

Just to clerify al khalid 2 and vt 4 both are 3rd generation both are derived from VT 1A (al khalid 1)

Pakistan still have window of 280 to 300 tanks after procurement of VT 4 , Al Khalid 2 at max can fulfill 30 to 50 thanks in 2 to 3 year (at rate of 12 to 15 tanks per year)
