This virus has completely destroyed businesses, huge corporations are taking EXTREME losses with 0 production where daily production of products cross a minimum of 10000 units per day for example.

Online retail websites are going empty, e-commerce affected, Supply Chain disturbed, Companies outsourcing materials which in turn is having substantial effect on price of end product.

Closure of China might have opened the eyes of the giants, this in turn will in long term, be unfortunate for China’s global manufacturing monopoly and foreign investment.

Many companies are now considering to distribute their production plants into some other countries as well or to completely relocate in some time.

Wow, it is indeed bad. And if the health care systems are overwhelmed the death rate will jump up. Response needs to be quick and strong too. China did take quick measures which made it a lot less deadly for them.

seems like the US's biggest problem is the cruise ships, infected crew members have been working on multiple ships, jumping from the west coast to the east coast, and then the thousands of people disperse into the population

And tourism/business travelers. However, it does seem it will spread everywhere regardless and we have to do our best with containment measures until the virus dies off.

many have come and gone already, I read that they tracked one or two cruise workers who had gotten it on a west coast cruise, and they were sent to the east coast work a different cruise latter to find out they were infected

I'm gonna disagree with you, it can overwhelm our healthcare systems and will be big financial burden if we don't slow down the spread. That's it's important to slow down the spread to our best ability to buy time for vaccines.

It developing in China first does have a bigger global impact but if it still spread at this rate it would have same effect with regards to the medical procedures and measures being taken to contain the virus.

Here in the US we are doing nowhere near the testing we should be doing. Cases do not reflect the extent of measures we are taking to contain the virus. Lots of public events, sporting events, and other gatherings are being cancelled. Also many Universities are moving to online instruction and cancelling in person lectures until at least late April. This is happening in my state too even though we only have a few confirmed cases. The real number is higher but lack of test kits is not helping get these numbers out.

There is a lot more testing going on in the US than what is reported, hospitals aren't using test kits that they send off to the CDC, they do there own testing in their lab, and it's not reported to CDC, unless they have a confirmed case.

Didn't know that, thanks. In my state all major Universities have suspended in class instruction starting from today and until winter semester is over. This will likely be the theme all across the nation and world for the next month.

Yea, you can bet that anyone shows up with symptoms like Corona Virus, they are getting there blood drawn and their own room with no one to bother them until there labs come back

We made a big deal out of this story although it's pretty much happening around the world. The motive was to spread awareness and employ some high standard of precautions. Funny to note that the one behind this idea was Indian and the guy in the picture is from Bangladesh. This might be perceived as something unacceptable in our society but its seen as something normal in other societies.
