Following the lifting of sanctions against Iran, the Russians have finally delivered advanced anti-aircraft systems to the Iranians. The S-300 PMU2 anti-aircraft batteries have long been a sticking point with some members of the UN Security Council stating that they are likely to be used to protect Iran's clandestine nuclear sites. These missiles are capable of tracking 100 warplanes within a 30km radius.

S-300 was first introduced in the 1970s? Although it has been upgraded many times, I do not think it is as good as S-400. Even S-400 is not invincible. No weapon system is invincible, and they can all be defeated through either technological break through or through some creative tactics to exploit the weakness of the system. Sure the weakness might be made up through the deployment of more of the systems, but I doubt Iran can afford to buy more than just limited number.

I believe Iran will be trying to acquire as many new weapons as it can. Therefore, it will be budgeting a great portion of it's its oil revenue, which has become available because of the lifting of sanctions against it, to try to play catch-up in its armament capabilities. This I believe, will be a necessary consideration for Iran because of the ensuing conflict between itself and Saudi Arabia.

If wasn't for the sanction and the pressure from the US, Russia would have delivered the S-300 to Iran many years ago. Now they really should just scrap the deal and just get a new deal for S-400 now if I were them. It is a waste of money to acquire old systems even if it is better than anything they already have.

Russia is making really difficult for Iran to acquire anything from no matter what it is. S-400s would be longer then S-300s for deliveries, but Iran only wants to acquire only a battalion or 2 of S-400s (8-16 launchers). but i agree but at the same time its just for them to start defending the airspace and start a little modernization of the Air defense forces.

LoL. Are you being serious? Iran developing such a sophisticated system∫øø§

Iran doesn't have the know how nor the infrastructure to manufacture a screwdriver let alone developing air-defence systems. Also Iran needs a decade to learn how to operate the S-300.

Although I don't agree with how @Scorpion put it but he is right. Iran doesn't have the capability to develop an S-300 like system. Unless you consider this a Tank.

Mate, this is not an opinion rather a fact. Iran has announced the project but on paper. Blah Blah as usual. all home made machines are either scraps or soviet junks. Show me one single achievement of Iran military industry so far.

This tank design is actually an originally american design, the Ripsaw tank.
The idea was to make a tank that was highly agile, mobile & could be used in terrain a regular tank could not be used in. (http://www.military.com/video/comba.../ripsaw-tank-manned-or-unmanned/1920102033001)
it looks very stupid yes, however the design is an interesting attempt to make something innovate (from the American original that is)
Iran likely is experimenting with this design due to the landscape of that country being mostly mountainous (not ideal for conventional armoured warfare). likewise the Bavar-373 is still being produced however the project has been delayed due to lack of infrastructure to build it & funds to quickly reverse engineer the original S-300 batteries obtained from Belarus'.
