ISLAMABAD: Director General (DG) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Nadeen Anjum has asked all authorities concerned not to release to the media his picture or video footage, made during any official meeting.

A federal minister, on condition of not being named, told The News on Monday that for the same reason, the government did not release any of his picture or video footage. The National Security Committee met on Monday. The meeting was also attended by the DG ISI. However, the picture and video footage, released to the media by the government, showed almost everyone else except for the top spymaster of the country.
When asked for the reason, the minister said it’s a standing instruction for all concerned from the incumbent DG ISI not to release any of his pictures or video footage of any official meeting that he attends. The minister was reluctant to say this on record.

The minister added that for the same reason, ever since his appointment as the DG ISI, none of his picture or video footage has been released to the media. Lt-Gen (retd) Amjad Shoaib, while commenting on it, said the basic principle of intelligence services is to stay away from the media’s eye. He said there have been violations of the principle in the past and a number of times the governments had been releasing to the media picture and video footage of the intelligence chiefs.

Shoaib said the intelligence chiefs should not be shown on the media and TV screens. Generally, he explained, the spymasters are not recognised in the public all over the world for the same reason. He said this basic principle got compromised during the Afghan war when Gen Hameed Gul and General Javed Nasir were heading the ISI.

He said he was not part of any intelligence network but even then when he was promoted and posted as GOC Quetta, the then Army Chief General Abdul Waheed Kakar advised him to stay away from the media.

Maj Gen (retd) Ejaz Awan, who also served in the ISI in the past, told The News that the new DG ISI seems to be following the pattern of doing his work without being publicised in the media.

Awan recalled that when he was appointed as ISI Sector Commander Lahore, he was told by his DG ISI General (retd) Ahsan that “you would be a good intelligence operator if you roam around Lahore and no one notices you and no one recognises that here the ISI Sector Commander is going”. Ideally, he said, people should not know by face who is the intelligence operator.

Nepra reserves ruling on raising power tariff by Rs4.33 per unit

By: News Desk
Published: 12:31 PM, 29 Dec, 2021

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has reserved its decision on a request of the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) seeking raise in electricity tariff by Rs4.33 per unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Nepra took up the CPPA plea during its hearing on Wednesday.

The CPPA had submitted its request in connection with monthly fuel adjustment charges for November 2021. The rise in tariff will put an additional burden of 29 billion rupees on consumers.

According to Nepra officials, there was an additional cost of Rs26 billion on generation due to a hike in fuel prices. Merit order violation ate up Rs62 million, they added.

The officials further said that LNG shortage had put an additional burden of Rs56 million.

The Nepra chairman while expressing displeasure over scheduled closure of power plants directed the authorities concerned to share the schedule of power plants closure with Nepra.

In its request, the CPPA said 33.21 percent of electricity was generated from water in November, 16.26 percent from coal, 1.71 percent from furnace oil and 0.29 percent from high-speed diesel.

The electricity generated from diesel in November was the most expensive at Rs27.20 per unit and the same was the case for electricity generated from furnace oil.

Electricity produced from gas in November was 12.89 percent and from LNG was 14.25 percent.

The electricity rate was enhanced by Rs4.74 per unit in connection with monthly fuel adjustment charges for October 2021.

Ganda ha par dhanda ha yeh

Have you not noticed that in Punjab when PTI wins /gain significant vote, in same election PPP lose votes, and when PPP wins /gain representation, it's PTI who's vote bank disappears!!! 🔔
This basic fact tells a lot about the foreign meddling in Pakistan's current elections system.
It's basically 10-20K votes in each constituency, which is controlled by consortium of foreign agencies. This is why we see rise of mafias in Pakistan. This is why we see strange people in ministries and advisory board, and they even share common political analyzers on media.

Why was there missing PTI contestant? Were they not trying to coverup the obvious common vote bank which PTI and PPP share mutually in Punjab!
This is why PTI regime can bee seen patronizing new mafias and gangs on political scene.

In Pakistan, difference between halal and haram has dropped to almost non-existent.
While state sponsored inward smuggling of goods and items, remains a highest valued commercial activity in country.
