He stated in Hindi, (9:35 - 09:50) translates as: ''Today nation has felt the absence of Rafale fighter jets'' '' Today all of India is saying... that, If today we had Rafael fighter jets the result of war would be different''

IAF, they claimed to have downed a PAF F-16

Thing is after Pakistan's retaliation downing of their jet and capture of their pilot it sent a huge shockwave in our neighborhood and to calm their public authorities had to lie we were almost on the verge of war and people losing all the morale at such a crucial time would've been devastating so they came up with this as morale boosting measure. Anyway their whole argument was based on two things wreckage of fighter jet which they claimed was PAF F16 (turns out it was their own downed MIG 21) and the parts of AMRAAM which only hints that an F16 may have been used.


Its really sad to see that greed for power of politicians in india almost brought this region to a nuclear war.

Egypt has shown interest in acquiring the jf-17. Here is also a recent picture of a Saudi F-15 pilot flight testing a PAF JF-17 Thunder.

With Block III coming up and now with it's first kill under it's belt i think JF 17's prospects of export in future are looking good!

Reuters reports... They said:
''India’s military used 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets, an airborne early warning and control (AWAC) aircraft, a mid-air refueller and drones for surveillance in the attack, defence sources said. The Mirages were armed with Israeli developed air to surface Crystal Maze missiles and SPICE 2000 smart bombs, they said''.

Now question to gurus.... why, SPICE2000 failed to hit the intended target, which was a Quran school (Arabic reading without translation) for the children of villages nearby !?

P.S.: There was no militant camp, neither any militant presence ever noticed by the villagers in surrounding villages. So the target chosen by Indians was totally wrong.

On previous occasion of India - Pakistan military skirmishes in 1999.
Pakistan shotdown 2 IAF fighter jets and one of the fighter pilot was captured alive.
India refused to accept his pilot name 'Kambampati Nachiketa' as an Indian national. India stated this to UN.
Fighter pilot Nachiketa was handed back to Indian govt. in secret as per Indian requests, in hope to improve ties with India.
Here you are back to square of 1, exactly after 20 years.

This is completely wrong. The pilot's name was announced immediately, and his return was demanded at that time itself. Two planes were shot down; Nachiketa was captured, and taken into custody by Pakistani military officers after being intimidated and treated roughly, the other pilot was captured, tortured and finally shot at close range; his dead body was returned in that condition after India demanded it.

When Nachiketa came back, when he was handed back, it was in the full glare of publicity. It is strange to see this utter distortion of the truth; there was nothing secret about it, and there was no question of improving ties with India considering that the Pakistani Northern Light Infantry were driven out of their positions, rather than retreating of their own accord.

It is funny to see the representative of a nation that denied the affiliation of several hundred of its soldiers in that same conflict, that allowed its soldiers to be given military burial by the other side's soldiers, should make such a perverse claim.

Not even the PAF is serious in claiming that more than one Indian plane was shot down. Forget about their being shot down by JF-17s, the AIM20 missile recovered proves conclusively that the PAF deployed F 16s. That may account for the missing plane and the missing pilot, both of which landed in POK.

Wow Im actually stunned. IAF is in miserable situation from jets crashing every now and then to pilots get captured.

What if in case of real confrontation! I am afraid Pakistan is going to inflict major harm on India.

Please don't be afraid. Pilots do get captured, especially if they take risks. Those who stick to their side of the border rarely run any such risk.

Like it happened in history, IAF is already not flying.
Pakistan on the other hand hit 6 targets (only supply depots) today morning, in followup of which those IAF fighter jets were shot down by Pakistani fighter pilots.
Pakistan used jF-17 for it's mission.
I don't expect any escalation to the point of no return.
Only problem for Pakistan is that people living right next to Pakistan border are friendly to Pakistan, while Indian army is hiding exactly among civilians, who hate Indian army.

According to the PAF itself, it sought to hit targets next to military targets, in order not to cause casualties. Since you cannot be telling a lie, it must be the DG ISPR.
