In term of economy, Saudi Arabia and Qatar can extend gas pipelines all they way to Turkey through Syria and that might shift Turkey away from Iran. That is the strategy Turkey should push for. Don't you think.

The only way for peaceful ME is to put the mullah and his expansion plan in his place.
That was the strategy all along, why do you think he wants Assad gone?
I dont know why he made a deal with Iran and its expensive gas(maybe he got some pocket money from the Ayatollahs).

Its not about him, when his party the AKP loses these elections in june,he is finished(nobody cares if he is the president or not).

Maybe Turkey is in need of gas and that is understandable. But the issue here is that this deal might be disturbed if Turkey were to involve in outsetting Assad.

Erdogan is samrt I don't question his ability at all considering the complex issues in the ME. I mean Syria in a hand and the Kurds in another hand. Way too complex my friend for any leader. Those issues require courage and scarifies. You will have to lose in order to win. Turkey is a military might in the region so does Saudi Arabia along with the rest GCC, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco. We need to take a collective measure to solve our issues or else they will get worse. Russia is a stumbling block but we can sort that out through arms deals, economic deals...etc. The keyword is COURAGE.

Assad will no last a minute if we all acted together. If Russia itself can't help it. The vodka addict will not have any options except to accept the reality.

Can someone explain to me why nothing is being done about the 6-10k Iranian troops in Damascus? Where is the Arab world? Can someone explain why Jordan which borders rebels near Damascus is not arming rebels in daraa with anything significant and therefore they haven't made any serious gains? Can someone explain why the Arab world refuses to arm opposition and only supports hand picked of 500 FSA men? Is it because US warned you not to? If that was case you should've stated it in public. Reality is Arab world just like Iran and west want Assad regime to remain or at least want this war prolonged another 5 years. Which means our Arab leaders don't fear God, everyday women are getting raped and civilians killed. But because of Arab leaders who rather secure their regime than support these suffering people nothing is being done. Only Saudi clerics and citizens are sending money. The only state which actually armed opposition is Qatar. And I also believe Qatar stopped.

In the end, every single Arab knows it's us citizens who will bear punishment for every child killed and every woman raped. Because we did not make any demands to our leaders. And if we did, and those leaders rejected then we should find ways to arm opposition. If we remain this way then groups like ISIS will gain traction in other Arab nations and possibly begin offensive in Jordan. The decision makers in arab world are cruel and careless. What's even funnier is they don't realize what they're creating. Don't be surprised if ISIS launches a campaign this summer in Arab nations including Jordan. Because of your utter carelessness to peoples situation.
you are very wrong. there is agreement and united effort the past few weeks and months between arab nations and turkey.
if you watch the videos and the syrian news you will see that they are gaining ground and that different groups are working together unitedly unlike the past. where do you think the TOW missiles came from ?! its all saudi.
syrian rebels are moving forward now and they are united. so there is a lot being done. maybe your not reading enough about it.
i dont read and watch a lot about the syrian rebels but its very clear that the past few weeks there were changes that lead to them capturing towns. there was a lot of good news from syria these days.
things are changing trust me. even in lebanon it will change. wait and see

regarding the deal between turkey and iran i think it can play to our favor.
iran needs it more than turkey. so if turkey and the coalition took actions in syria. iran will be squeezed in the corner.
they cant afford losing a deal with turkey they need the money badly.
i think it can shot them up. its a very good card in erdogans hand if played well. of course its easier said than done.
but i guess we will have to wait and see

I noticed that in the very past two to three weeks the rebels are advancing but I don't know what was the turning point that made them advanced in a matter of short period of time?

im assuming saudi turki and qatar are working together now.
also in the saudi official tv news there is more coverage and focus than before. so that tells you something. you can clearly see the TOW missiles everywhere.
what is sure is that all countries in the coalition + turkey decided to kick iran out. and i think there is more to come. not just in syria but maybe in the future hizbullah in lebanon. they might drag them out of lebanon and finish them in syria.

It will be a good Idea if we can drag Hizbo to fight in Syria and use the arms the Lebanese army received lately to kick Hizbo asses from different angles.

War of attrition.¶•¶

D:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-DD:-D

Regime is panicking after take over of Idlib. Last thing we want is war of attrition, if Iran increases involvement in Syria we should arm rebels with game changing weapons. At this pace the rebels will make big gains over next months. If Iran intervenes it will return to stalemate which we don't want.

Rebels are heading towards Latakia. If they manage to capture it. They can go down south along the coast towards Baniyas, and then go east to attack Syrian forces from one side while rebels from Idlib attack them from North. This plus ISIS attacking from east towards Deir Al Ful and Hama could be captured. Once they campture Hama the rest shouldn't be difficult unless Hezbollah intervenes full scale which I doubt. They will give up on Hama and worry about Damascus, all of Latakia and Tartus would be big news.

The Army of Islam: Militant group battling ISIS and the Syrian regime show their might in 'graduation ceremony' featuring 1,700 soldiers and a fleet of armoured tanks

  • Made up of around '60 rebel factions', it also opposes Islamist groups like ISIS
  • Held the 'largest military parade witnessed' since start of the Syrian revolution
  • Saudi Arabia is 'funding the group with millions of dollars in arms and training'

A militant group which opposes both ISIS and the Syrian regime has released a striking video showing off 1,700 troops, fleet of armoured tanks and special forces soldiers in an impressive military parade.

These men form a small part of Jaysh Al-Islam - or Army of Islam - who reportedly command as many as 25,000 loyal fighters following the merger of up to 60 rebel factions inside Syria.

Dozens of masked special units show off a range of skills including close-range combat in what the group claims is the 'largest military parade witnessed' since the dawn of the Syrian revolution in 2011.

Discipline: As many as 1,700 soldiers stood to attention as their commander referred to them as the 'leaders of the Mujahidin', which roughly translates as 'those who fight in a Jihad'

The group operates in the embattled Syrian city of Damascus and their ongoing battle against President Bashar Al-Assad is reportedly funded by the wealthy nation of Saudi Arabia.

The Arab kingdom has sent millions of dollars to arm and train their fighters so they can defeat the Syrian regime and 'increasingly powerful Jihadi organisations', according to the Guardian.

Known as the Army of Islam, the insurgent group was created in 2011 when Saudi Arabia allegedly engineered the merger of over 50 rebel factions after growing alarmed at the rise if Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Syria.

It is a fierce enemy of both those Islamist groups as well as Jabhat Al-Nusra, but embraces independent rebel forces and 'non-Jihadi' units.

Their graduation ceremony for trainee soldiers in the Ghouta suburb of Damascus was attended by the militants' leadership who watch proudly as their troops march in perfect unison across the expanse.

Jaysh Al-Islam is led by Sheikh Zahran Aloush who addresses the thousands of armed soldiers and tanks once they have assembled on the vast concrete ground below.

Fierce: His fighters, who marched in perfect unison in Damascus, are waging a battle against ISIS in Syria and have reportedly attacked their headquarters in the Lebanese city of Arsal

The Salafist leader is considered one of the most power military chiefs in rebel-held Syria and called for the 'cleansing' of all Alawite and Shiites in Damascus.

He says to his soldiers: 'Today, legions of Mujahadin, stand in readiness to raise the banner of Allah, uphold his words, move forward to fight and defend his religion.

'Know paradise is waiting for us since we either achieve victory or die in honour... So take your strength from Allah and wage Jihad in the cause of your Lord.

'We will leave these fields in which we finished our course and preparation and we will continue waging Jihad.'

He refers to their enemies, which include Islamic State and Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad's troops, as the 'dirtiest and most despicable enemies of Allah'.

In February, Aloush tweeted that his insurgents had ambushed Islamic State's fighters at their headquarters in the Lebanese city of Arsal, according to reports by AL Monitor.

Deadly: That was followed by a series of choreographed drills from its masked special forces units who - unlike their comrades - dressed entirely in black

Force: The graduation ceremony was held for Jaysh Al-Islam's trainee soldiers who stood to attention as fleets of armoured vehicles drove past

They allegedly 'killed and wounded three and took out the eye of a fourth person' in what was reportedly their first act of aggression outside of Syrian territory.

His tweets also indicated the group - which is widely known for its links to Saudi Arabia - was prepared to carry out military attacks outside Syria.

AL Monitor claimed his tweets referenced ISIS's expansion in the Ghouta and Qalamoun suburbs of Damascus which it controls.

He said the attack in Arsal was retaliation for the bombing Islamic State carried out on its headquarters in the Ghouta suburb.
