I think it just depends anywhere, when Roger Keaton was running for office for mayor, he wanted to add additional 32 Alderman other than that, he honestly had no other plan to improve Chicago's quality for people, and he complained about taxes, but in his campaign he didn't truly have a plan/idea to help reduce taxes. That's what happens when you move the Democrats from New Orleans to Houston, New Orleans corruption
Toni Preckwinkle the only thing that made her truly popular was her sturdy stance against increasing property and sales tax in the City of Chicago, overhaul the worker's compensation program and increasing minimum wage $15 an hour, but literally that was it, and only the Hyde Park and surrounding areas supported here.
Lightfoot maybe ignorant and not as progressive as she promised to be, however Lightfoot has done a lot and I mean a lot more for the City of Chicago and Chicagoans.
for example, for the Workers compensation program, she hired an outside firm to run/audit the program to rid it from Alderman Ed Burke who was corrupted to the core, which he didn't help prevent fraud, abuse and the city had ~1,300 open cases because of him that should of been settled, some even decades ago. a lot of people applauded her for this.
Lightfoot is also been pushing hard for a Casino, to be located on the West or South Side, last year it didn't go anywhere, now a couple companies are "eyeing the proposal again"
Lightfoot also launched the TBI (Troubled Building Initiative) which is to help people in troubled areas such as Englewood and Pilsen, build affordable housing complexes/houses, help new small businesses start, as well as renovating vacant buildings so they can bring in new businesses.
INVEST South/West is part of the TBI, however Austin, North Lawndale, and Englewood are the main targeted communities, in which they are planning to renovate buildings for affordable housing, to renovate/uplift for new retail stores/small businesses.
she also planned to increase/better police-community relations and so far it's going ok, considering the community safety team has improved some relations with families on the West sides especially, the District Coordination Officers have just began with 100 officers, launched the Officer Support System (OSS) which helps officers who are facing a mental health crisis, but also allows the Dept. to follow/keep an eye on the actual corrupt officers, the new Probationary Police program which allows officers to tackle crime faster using the new advanced tech the city is getting as well as acting as a community safety team to aim an improve relations again.
Lightfoot helped also increased Outreach Street Programs to help people get out of the gangs/crime-related problems, the READI program so far have helped at least ~2,000 men get out of the gangs, receive theraphy and better their lives.
and the list goes on, I'm still not a major lightfoot supporter, but she has done a lot of accomplishments the other 2 (Keaton and Preckwinkle)
