How did China defeated US BVR capability ? dude AIM120Ds is the best BVR missile in the world and let me know any PL10/PL15 hit ? none ,where as all the BVR hits as of now recorded in the world is of AMRAAM.

If we had J10s a decade back than it would had killed JF17s program and block 2 would had been its last block only.

And even if by any chance PL-15 and AIM-120D are similar, Upcoming PL-XX beats the whole world off.

This is why USAF and Marines are concerned, China has got the edge and the superiority.

I just don’t get it. Members who are writing off Mirages as obsolete are forgetting how just a year ago these obsolete planes got honours to cross the international border and precision bomb Indian targets.

Mirages operated and exceeded in the most heavily defended skies with the heaviest air defence cover probably in the world. They did an excellent job and returned Unscratched.

why would we wanna dump these aircrafts and write them off as obsolete ?

we need numbers to match Indians. Imagine once F7s are replaced all our aircrafts will be capable of BVR / precision strike .... it will give Indians nightmares having to deal with every aircraft coming from Pakistan as carrying BVR or precision ammunition.

Yes China's bvr are not battle proven! This not China's fault, it didn't invade countries to test and refine its weapons.

But saying China's weapons are inferior to USA is not a logical conclusion. Chinese might be well ahead or far behind western technology, only a batlle/war can assist in making a comparison. However there is no technical bottleneck which points to chinese not being able to technologically master bvr technology.

I agree but Feb 27 provided that opportunity to test Chinese missiles capability but at the end of the day it was yet again American stuff which had the first and the last laugh. Anyways would love to see PL15s shooting down Indian jets in near by future. In longer run, our future is linked with Chinese procurement than American.

You are missing the point. I am quite surprised why People consider JF-17 and J-10 as equal ?
Similarly JF-17 != F-16 as well.

Reason ? Class, Light weight.
Engine thrust, Output.

Size limitations, Payload limitation, Hp limitations, And hence, Heavy avionics (Strong radars) canno be installed on Light Thunders.

This is where the perfect Answer to Rafale, That is J-10CE/P comes in, Better Engine, Higher output, Very strong radar and the ability to carry Much better AAMs.

Plus, We aren’t going for too many J-10s, Most probably we will get in limited numbers, What’s wrong with that ? OTOH we will go as plan on Thunders, To increase fleet quantity and quality, To have a very strong BVR Air Force.

With rd 93 ma the thrust difference between j10& jf17 would be merely 25%
While f16b70 has thrust & weight of 50% higher
