Are you sure about pl-21 integration on j-10p? I am not sure about that. I heard about pl-15 but not pl-21. This pl-21 is ramjet, basically meteor with probably very long range.

We don’t know about future weapons and what will get integrated with what. PL-21 may get integrated with JF-17, but another future missile may not, given J-10P is larger and has more ground clearance.

J10P can be used to milk the US for all the goodies. Or they lose influence in Pakistan. Already J-10P will have SOWs which F-16 does not. We should now be asking for SOWs for F-16s with the next batch.

What I have learned from Khafee (indirectly) is that later versions of these missiles are frequently produced and tested - while the old photographs are shared for public consumption. Today's version may be improved and extended range Zarb-II or Zarb-III but we still see the old photos.

I wish its range is at least 1,000 KM and Pakistan is able to annihilate Indian navel assets sitting on the port of Mumbai. Sink them in their own waters while they were anchored.

You are right Sir, and that range of missile will force indian navy to quit from mumbai and sit some eastern or at least southern part of their cost, to avoid the damage by the Zarb weapon system (ZWS).

Also, with giant missiles, even if JF-17 can integrate the PL-21 and the even larger LRAAM China has / is developing, the utilization will be less effective. A larger, more powerful aircraft will be able to use these missiles better, both kinematically and due to ability to maneuver while having them on their wings.

Loadouts on small planes can turn them into a very limited platform. Same is not true for larger aircraft.

PL-15 range is rumored. End of story.

You seriously believe that US will put a cap on its BVR missile range. If China comes with extended range than US will come with better range every time. How many SD10s we fired on Feb 27 ? none where as, it was AIM 120Cs which kept out entire IAF fleet that day. Lets be rational here and respect the stuff which has been proven better.

IAF plane comes in the kill zone of our F-16 carrying AIM-120, what should it do ask Abhinandan abhi ruk mein bhejta hon JF-17 ko SD-10 ka sath. All the stated ranges available on internet are theoretical, its a close secret on what is the real range of AIM, SD-10, Meteor , PL-15 or for that matter any A2A missile.

Secondly range depends on many factors. The height from where the missile was launched, the angle of attack, and the atmospheric pressure etc.

If 1000km range of an antiship cruise missile like Zarb can be attained...then along with J15s stationed near the coast...any hope IN might have of a blockade would become a pipe dream.
