20 troops? What are you going to do with them? Just deploy 5,000 in Aden. Secure that city and send field commanders to advise southern resistiance into other provinces. The Gulf populations need to accept that troops have to be deployed in order to achieve objectives.
intelligence, planning, coordinating etc... there are small numbers in yemen from day one anyway.
its not ww2 u know... war tactics have changed. specially when you are fighting militias!!

Intelligence isn't collected through 20 ground troops who deployed around airport. Intelligence is collected by informants on ground. Also by advanced equipment used to listen on on plans of enemy. These could play role of advisers but they need more than that. Much more. Advisers will play role of planning and coordinating. But as I said this is too little. Advisers also need to be on battlefield. If no advisers than start training large groups of Yemenis in street warfare. Not small groups. Because there are lots of fighters on ground and its a big landmass , big country.

How many? any idea? They could be anti-Houthi locals using gear and equipment provided by the collation.
That's exactly what I saw a lot on Twitter, that they're in fact Yemenis armed by the coalition not Saudi troops. But if the coalition sent any it would probably be a small number for advising and reconnaissance purposes.

DAKAR (Reuters) - Senegal will send 2,100 troops to Saudi Arabia as part of an international coalition combating Houthi rebels in neighbouring Yemen, the West African nation's foreign minister said on Monday.

Senegalese President Macky Sall said, after returning from a visit to Saudi Arabia last month, he was considering a request to deploy troops in the Saudi-led coalition battling the Houthi, a Shi'ite Muslim group allied to Iran.

Saudi Arabia - the world's top oil exporter and the Sunni Muslim regional rival of Iran - said Houthi forces posed a threat to its security after they captured Yemen's capital and began advancing across the country in September.

"The international coalition is aiming to protect and secure the holy sites of Islam, Medina and Mecca," Senegalese Foreign Minister Mankeur Ndiaye told parliament.

"The president...has decided to respond favourably to this request by deploying a contingent of 2,100 men in the holy land of Saudi Arabia," he said.

The coalition, which wants to restore Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, includes eight other Arab states and is receiving logistical support from the United States, Britain and France.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said in a statement on Monday the alliance was considering halting airstrikes in specific areas in Yemen to allow in humanitarian supplies.

The United Nations says the humanitarian situation in Yemen has grown desperate after weeks of bombardment.

Senegal deployed troops to Saudi Arabia as part of the U.S.-led alliance during the Gulf War against Iraq, when 92 of its soldiers were killed in the crash of a Saudi transport plane in 1991.

This, shows that it is hard to intercept grad type rockets,a system similar to the Iron Dome, would be appropriate to try to intercept them.

Houthis will pay for their crime in Najran

RIYADH — Houthi militias, who shelled on Tuesday some schools and a field hospital in Najran city, will not go unpunished, asserted Brig. Gen. Ahmad Al-Asiri, spokesman of the coalition forces and adviser at the office of the minister of defense.

"Air and ground forces will respond in the right way to these hazardous acts and will not allow them to be repeated," Asiri said. The Saudi military had already deployed Apache combat helicopters to target the rebels in the border area, he added. There were some injuries in the attack on the hospital, Asiri added.

"These rebels have come to the border with suicide missions and they will be destroyed,” he said, adding that the situation on the border is totally under control and the Armed Forces are geared up to ensure full security and stability along the borders.

All schools and university faculties were closed and Saudi Arabian Airlines suspended flights to and from Najran airport. — SG
