I would not say gone altogether, but experiences count and are handed down. If there is no continuation?
There is a reason why internal trouble shooting manuals exist. These are documents created for similar scenarios, albeit once technological obsolescence takes over, they are usually burried in some archive.

Recently what PLAAF has done with obsolete / retired aircrafts, by turning them into drones, raises the point that proper and accurate documentation should be maintained, just in case, obsolete aircrafts can be used again.

Some update, J-35 is a serious contender, and not related to AZM. Although if it is selected, it wont land until 2023~2024 at least.
To land, It must take off first as well >@<

You make a good point on the drones. We should look at the feasibility converting the retiring F-7s into drones. Don't know what condition F-6/A-5s are. What would it take to make them airworthy.

F-6's not sure. A-5's are stored in a very good condition.

Shows confidence of PAF for RD93.
I will not be surprised, if PAC announce local assembling of RD93!

@Khafee reason of preference of J35 over J31? ,
Due to non maturity of J31 or Want to use them in Naval role instead of land role ?
I think if both jets(J-31and J-35) are available. PAF must go with J-35 because PLNAF will go with J-35. So in future J-35 would get regular upgrades. And by passing every year this jet will become more deadly. And we will also get those updates in a cost effective price.on other hand J-31 is private project of Shenyang, no PLAF or PLNAF involvement. So any kind of upgrades will cost 💯% to PAF. Thanks

Make senses, but IMO as medium weights 5th gen fighter, once it J35 came to action J31 will also be inducted in Chinese airforce
