I ca understand what you are saying flying over land but from where would you be launching the SA missile when the aircraft is 400 miles from your shores and flying over the water---?

Well they are still being used, had honor in Designing a Control System for Modern balloon barrages. Cannot say more on open forum except that you will Find ingenuity in Pakistan Armed Forces (i think its attributed to our restrictions to low resources) like its embedded in their DNA especially in PAF. You would be surprised if you know how this Balloon barrage is being used in 21st Century by Pakistan.

Sure, it will be of less use against Modern SOW but still there are Certain threats that PAF thought could be neutralized with innovation.

Yup PAF has had come up some scrappy low tech solutions to various issues. I knew somebody who worked on a Deferential GPS system. This was way before we had access to Beidou constellation.

Thank you---that is what I wanted to hear---. The Ship to air missiles the long range one cannot out distance out shoot our AShM's like the C802's or the CM400AKG's---.

So---those ships would be a welcome sight---to be taken out---. Or you can simply avoid them by flying 50-60 nautical miles away from them---or just out distance the flight of the frigates SA missiles and go around---.

You have your theory/strategy.

I was just trying to let you know that there are ground based RADARs that can track OTH. And that flying extreme low level 5-600 mile missions are inherently dangerous (over land). Let alone over sea.

I understand about the land missions to be dangerous---that is why I have never suggested this route for the JH7A's.

I have always talked about over the water strikes---.

So what is the best Ship to air missile range of the enemy missile---? I would say not even halfway close to the range of our C802's and forget the range of the CM400AKG's momentarily---.

Ground base radars would have a next to impossible task to find a low flying aircraft over water---.

When you say long range radar---then what do you mean by the long range---how long is that long range---.

He doesn't understand why the planes that were posted in the picture, have foldable wings. Members here assume they are the ones PAF ordered but it looks like they have foldable wings. So he doesnt understand why they would have foldable wings that are meant for planes on a carrier.
