Actually Oman have some very interesting locations from our perspective where a combine base of Naval and Air force could do wonder for security of our SLOC one such location is Al-Ashkharah city [click here] any base in south of this city within the radius of 30-50 KM would be near to ideal as per our Naval Security point of view important thing is this city is just +300 KM from Duqm City port [click here] where India have right of Docking for her Naval Ships.

The Important thing which is required to be understand here is that Duqm is +750 KM from Gawadar which mean Indian Navy could possibly dock in International waters in South or East of Duqm city few hundred kilometers away but could get logistic support from Duqm port and could possibly not only harase Naval Traffic coming or going towards Gwadar or Karachi port but possibly attack these cities with Extended Range Brahmos missile

On the other hand IF [big IF as Oman has very good relation with India] we somehow manage to establish a combine Naval and Air Force base in close vicinity of the Al-Ashkharah city of Oman then we could force Indian Navy Flotilla to station further south and out of their striking range on Gawadar and Karachi from Sea

Other then this with a combine base in or near to Horn of Africa region we could not only strengthen security of our SLOC but we would gain the capabilities to disturb, disrupt or at least harase the Indian SLOC ad would force India to put her Naval assets at least 2,500 km away from her nearest port to secure Indian SLOC and give up the dream of Naval blockade of Pakistan.
