Initially it was Peshawar but then was moved to Karachi in 1948 and then back to Peshawar in 1960 i think. In 83 AHQ moved to Chaklala and in 2005 after completion of AHQ building in E9 Islo it moved there.

Islo ka mausam acha ha karachi sa ....the rational thinking was that all the services chiefs should be stationed in the capital near to the seat of the govt...If the Prime Minister wants to meet the Naval chief he would have to rush from karachi,,,

That sounds not so smart If ask me. All 3 should be spread out so that not all of them get taken out by 1 attack.

i also wrote long ago about transferring the capital once more
this time something in the middle
like near multan on the other side of satluj river between panjnad river
the area is naturally protected from any invasion and in center of country and with plenty of room to grow and dirt cheap real estate
or better still have a war with india win back gujrat and go back to karachi
thats the best option

No, multan is still close and Karachi is not a good option either. Just because its big doesnt mean it's good, otherwise you would be following the indian philosophy. Karachi needs to be cleaned and made the Tokyo of Pakistan. Making it the capital would drag it through even more mud.


I've talked abt this too. New capital should be near quetta or below it. It would help develop and support that region. While encouraging the movement of people there and bringing some sort of urbanization. More people need to move to balochistan and develop it. All sitting around lahore and karachi isnt going to do sh$t for Pakistan's development.
