No, multan is still close and Karachi is not a good option either. Just because its big doesnt mean it's good, otherwise you would be following the indian philosophy. Karachi needs to be cleaned and made the Tokyo of Pakistan. Making it the capital would drag it through even more mud.


I've talked abt this too. New capital should be near quetta or below it. It would help develop and support that region. While encouraging the movement of people there and bringing some sort of urbanization. More people need to move to balochistan and develop it. All sitting around lahore and karachi isnt going to do sh$t for Pakistan's development.

of course India is also working. But we have seen their track record. They like to announce and boast about mega procurement deals. Then spend next 10 years milking multiple foreign suppliers of whatever they can get from them.
On the flip side, they do panic buys that are not very well thought out. They went to get Derbys for SU30s the next day after Feb 27th spanking. Now suddenly buying SU30/Mig29s off the shelf from Russia.

Now will US allow them to have F35 and S400? if that happens, we will be forced to introduce a similar platform most probably J35. But that is not happening in the next 5 years.

The US is producing F-35s like cakes. The fastest and largest scale fighter production currently in the world. They could, if they so wished, supply a hundred F-35s to India within a year. That is the danger. A buy like that would completely change the military balance in their favour.

New capital should be where the four provinces almost meet. Create a federally administered area that borders all four current provinces. This is approximately West of Multan.

When was the last time you went to Quetta? I visited Command & Staff College long ago, and then last visit was 2yrs back. With the amount of Afghani refugees, and its close proximity to Iran and Afghanistan, having a capital anywhere in Baluchistan would be nothing less than suicidal.

ISB was the wrong choice, but it is not moving any time soon, I think we should all move on from this moot point.
