Even I can't understand Urdu poetry.
Ironically no one pays attention to Arabic learning in Pakistan. Though it's comparatively a lot easier for them to learn.
Two times in history, Arabic was proposed as national language. First, right after partition and second time by Shah Faisal R.U to Z A Bhutto.
Urdu is of course not language of majority and the way majority has learned Urdu, they could learn Arabic as national language.
Arabic could combine different ethnic groups more effectively, as many can't digest Urdu till today.
