They may very well strike the rebels fighting alongside Turkish soldiers if the Syrian army actually moved into northern areas. Iran and Syrian army want to move in while Russia is fine with Turkish buffer zone and return of refugees. So if anyone ignites Turkish-Syrian fighting, it will be the Iranians and the regime leadership who will ignite it.

It's night time in Syria so tomorrow morning we could very well see Syrian-Turkish confrontation.

Wow, stupid mistake by those rebels. Just capture POW's and move on.

That's a lie, she was not raped or beheaded as some sources are saying. She seemed to have been killed while her vehicle was shot up after the driver refused to stop at the area. She may very well have been in the battlefield. I think she was based in Raqqah but came to Tel Abyad to assist the Kurdish fighters.

For some reason, I don't think they made a mistake, they did what they intended to do

Oct. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered all of the country's troops to withdraw from Syria amid conflicts between Turkey and Kurdish forces, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Sunday.

As clashes between invading Turkish-led forces and Kurdish fighters intensified, the Kurdish administration in Syria said that 785 people affiliated with the Islamic State escaped from a camp holding about 12,000 displaced people, including woman and children.

Appearing on CBS News' Face the Nation, Esper said approximately 1,000 U.S. troops in northern Syria will leave "as safely and quickly as possible," adding they would not leave the country entirely but move south of Turkey's attacks.

"We want to make sure we deconflict a pullback of forces. We want to make sure we don't leave equipment behind. So I'm not prepared to put a timeline on it, but that's our general gameplan," he said.

Esper said was aware of the reported escapes and execution of some Kurdish allies of the United States.

"It's terrible. It's a terrible situation. We condemn it. We have condemned it," he said on CBS. "It's- these are justice things that we told the Turks would happen and play out. Who's conducting it, it's unclear at this point and time. There are Turkish regular forces and there are Turkish proxy forces."

After Turkish forces shelled the Ain Issa area, a riot broke out at the camp among 249 women and 700 children who formerly were part of the "caliphate," The Guardian reported.

Jelal Ayaf, the co-chair of the camp's management, said sleeper cells within the civilian section attacked the remaining guards who had not fled.

Ain Issa has served as headquarters for the Kurdish administration and is positioned beside the M4 highway, which is used to transport aid to parts of northeastern Syria.

Trump on Sunday said it was "very smart" not to be involved in the conflict in Syria, adding that he was working with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and other members of Congress about imposing sanctions on Turkey.

"Treasury is ready to go, additional legislation may be sought. There is great consensus on this," Trump wrote on Twitter.

Trump noted that the "Kurds and Turkey have been fighting for many years. Turkey considers the PKK [Kurdistan Workers' Party] the worst terrorists of all. Others may want to come in and fight for one side or the other. Let them! We are monitoring the situation closely. Endless Wars!"

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday said that the military operation in Syria would continue until the Kurdish forces are driven away from Turkey's borders.

Government troops were moving to the north to confront the Turkish offensive, Syrian TV reported Sunday night.

Those individuals for sure, but the organization does not stand for that. Those are Kurdish militants by the way. It's wrong, and all combatants in the region need education on ethics/laws of war. Sadly, however, all armies and militias commit such violations of war. Only in recent decades did it get better. So if you think that is ugly, you can go see videos of the abuses of the regime or the Kurdish militias(raping of female prisoners). All the war in the region is really ugly. And all people in the region need to take courageous step to end war. By leaving aside their nationalistic aspirations.

France and Germany announced on Saturday that they are temporarily halting arms exports to Turkey over the country's military incursion into northern Syria.
"Against the backdrop of the Turkish military offensive ... the Federal Government will not issue any new permits for all military equipment that could be used by Turkey in Syria," Germany's Foreign Minister Heiko Maas stated on Saturday afternoon.

Hours later, Florence Parly, the French Minister of the Armed Forces, issued a similar statement.
"Pending the cessation of the Turkish offensive in North-East Syria, France has decided to suspend any plans to export to Turkey war materials that could be used in the context of this offensive. This decision is of immediate effect," she wrote on Twitter.

Berlin and Paris join fellow European countries the Netherlands, Norway, and Finland in their blockade, with the latter stating that the arms export ban concerned not only Turkey but also any other country involved in the fighting.

Turkey launched its military operation into northern Syria on Wednesday, days after the US announced that it was pulling troops from the area.

Ankara argues the offensive against the Western-backed, Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) — which is affiliated to Kurdish groups Turkey recognises as terror organisations — will allow the creation of a "safe zone" along its border where the more than three million Syrian refugees it currently hosts will be able to relocate.

But Western countries, including the European Union, the US, and Australia, have condemned the military operation, warning that it could have dangerous consequences.

France and Germany were the third and fourth-largest arms exporters in the world between 2014 and 2018, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The Netherlands, Norway and Finland were in 10th, 14th and 24th position respectively.
Turkey, meanwhile, was ranked as the world's 13th biggest arms importer with most 60% of its imports originating from the US, followed by Spain (17%) and Italy (15%).

Madrid and Rome have, for now, not taken similar decisions but EU leaders who will gather for a summit on October 17-18 in Brussels are expected to discuss a bloc-wide arms embargo to Turkey.

Al Jazeera says Turkey and SNA have begun push for Manbij city supported by artillery and aerial strikes from Turkish Air Force/Army. If true, then this means Turkey won't allow SAA to take over the city. And all the reports of SAA entering Manbij were indeed fake news.
