Guessing about PAF is very easy. Only one thing will come into your mind. That's the boss only "F-16".

PAF parches plans are also not hard to manipulate. Just show them some upgraded F-16s and any other deal would be canceled.

There should be some other business oriented authority involved in selling and purchasing. Pilots can't do business. It's simply not their field.

We will achieve this IA. One thing for sure as Horus said on PDF new procurements been sought for PAF but he didn't mention which plane is may be we guessing F16 and Su ended up FC20 or EF never know
In 2016 the PAF told Jane's it was looking for 30-40 new fighters to serve as a stopgap until the FGFA.

Given the low quantity and the fact that it was to run in parallel to the CSF-subsidized F-16, the idea was clearly for a twin engine, namely Su-35 or Typhoon T3.

The T1 -- even without the upgrade -- is OK pricing wise, but doesn't add anything past the Block-52+. The PAF wants the strike capable T3 with the MBDA Meteor, which means we run up against the French (one of the Meteor's partners).

If they can clear the Meteor and IRIS-T (alongside SOM, Atmaca and IREK integration), then the PAF can ask for a lease and replace program. So we get the T1s ASAP on a lease basis, and then we gradually swap them out with the T3, all within the framework of the T3 contract.

One X-factor is the Gripen E/F. It offers supercruise and a strike-friendly delta arrangement. And it costs the least of the Euro Canards, $150 m all in per unit.

And there's a good political argument for the Gripen E/F as well, i.e. pull Sweden away from India (which we should've done with France by favouring the M2K in the 1980s and Rafale in the 2000s) and tie Saab expertise for Project Azm.

sir after putting f16 behind then how gripen will be clear for Paf. gripen uses US built engine so i don't think USA allow Sweden to sale Pakistan and 2nd argument also about gripen. which capability gripen E/F give us above JF-17 block III.

again the demand in 2016 is same but in 2019 the suppliers are changed ... in 2016 we could hardly imagine Russian's jets procurement....USA-Turkey were partners in F-35 production etc. Pakistan in current scenario is looking for financially & technically supported package.....Russians are desperate to make Turkey as its close ally and Turkey is putting certain conditions. One such perceived condition favours Pakistan's quest for SU.

IK will be in China and after that visit we might see him in Moscow......that will be key....

Turkey will want to customize the Su-35 so that it carries Turkish radar, avionics, and weapons. So if Turkey signs on, so will Pakistan. But Turkey may also favour the EU this time, so it might go for the Typhoon.

agreed ....But all indications favors Turkish tilt towards Russia ....giving the fact that when USA shows dissent rest of the European cheyley ...follows the suit...At least Turkey is smarter then we are....they are taking decision far quickly and decisively.

The SU program will be mostly run by turkey and Pakistan would be on the back benches.....SU with Turkish Radar & Avionics while Pakistan will try to customize it for Chinese (PL15 type) Weaponry ...lots of possibilities.

sir after rejecting or quieting /out from the race of f35 i was expecting they will go for latest trenches of Typhoon T3.
Both have the same idea, immediately fill the gap with T1, then later on T3's can be added.

I would agree with your statement, SU-35 makes no sense for Turkey and they were only interested in the SU-57 that too I think if Russia was willing to help then in their own stealth fighter.....

The immediate call is " to fill the gap" for "both" ...as rightly said by @Khafee.....SU-57 is far away.

For PAF the other option was J-10C but recently appeared interview of AM Shahid Lateef ...defuses this possibility as he said J-10 was evaluated and we found some 50 performance parameters not up to the mark.

so the current situation is:

SU-35......undecided
J-10C........initial assessment....NO
EFT............high probability of NO from OEM.
F-16..........US Govt. conditions not in favour of PAF.

Sir, the assessment made by AM Shahid Lateef was on the J-10A not J-10B nor J-10C
The latter two are the ones with almost all of those issues resolved.
