Considering that they use 4x4's and ak's (most of the time) their effectiveness is highly questionable. The fact of the matter is that the majority of the world's muslim nations have condemned their actions. There will not be "muslim empire army" anytime soon. Just my $00.02.

Syria Kurds kill 22 militants around Kobane

Friday, 30 January 2015

Kurdish fighters killed 22 jihadists around Kobane Thursday, days after recapturing the Syrian town, but the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group still controls hundreds of villages in the area, a monitor said.

“Nineteen ISIS members were killed in fighting against the (Kurdish) People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the hills surrounding Manaz to the west of Kobane,” said Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director Rami Abdel Rahman.

“Another three jihadists died in fighting around villages to the east of Kobane, while the YPG also took one ISIS member prisoner,” he told AFP.

Kurdish forces recaptured the town on the Turkish frontier on Monday, in a symbolic blow to the jihadists who have seized large swathes of territory in their onslaught across Syria and Iraq.

The YPG had also recaptured five villages around Kobane this week, according to Abdel Rahman, whose Britain-based group relies on a network of sources inside Syria.

“Another 350 villages remain under ISIS control,” he said, referring to settlements in the area around Kobane.

One civilian was also killed.

“ISIS shelling in the western countryside of Kobane killed a civilian,” said Abdel Rahman, who has repeatedly stressed that the fight for the Kobane area is far from over.

AFP journalists who have entered Kobane, which is known in Arabic as Ain al-Arab, have seen pulverized buildings and heavily armed fighters roaming otherwise deserted, rubble-strewn streets.

They're not even considered as true Muslims by people who actually understand the religion, as they are able to see through their false claims and pathetic attempts at defending their actions by using the Quran, and in the process making a bad name for Muslims worldwide. Therefore, no I don't think they will be able to create anything like an empire, or create a sovereign nation. Mainly because that's not what they want to do, they wan't to keep expanding their caliphate by ruling with force and fear, and the use of the "convert or die" philosophy. This will not continue to work because after a certain point they won't be able to expand, since their support is very limited, in comparison to the opposition.

I hope that they are not. Muslims are good people and they just can't represent the religion. They are brutal and are not right embodiment for that religion which is full of values and compassion. They should represent it. It will only make stereotyping for Muslims worse.

For a little while ISIS though they were an unstoppable force. Defeated in Kobani, they've started losing ground and their defeat is an inspiration to others that if they [too] stand their ground [like the Kurdish fighters in Kobani], they too can repulse the disgusting savages.

So OP, as others have said ISIS isn't an Islamic empire. They use Islam as a smoke screen to draw in those who are Muslims by name [not deeds] to join their ranks.

And then there's this conspiracy theory:
"ISIS was created by Zionists seeking to give Islam a bad reputation . . . It's part of a plan by Zionists who are deliberately trying to blacken Islam's name . . ."

If that's true then the plan certainly is working.

No manufacturing ability, relies on weapons which it has to buy on the black market. Unable to manufacture anything of their own. Needs to hire foriegn experts to run the oil wells they captured.

When the Muslim Empire had an army they where the ones who where technologically ahead of the west. ISIS is a joke.

Ha! ISIS is far from an empire. It's just a bunch of wannabe idiots who are trying to make a name for themselves in the market. None of the Muslim countries support, and in fact all are against it. Most Muslims don't even consider them to be Muslims often commenting that they're just using Islam as a tool.

ISIS will be an empire as soon as the sun rises from the west.

xTinx and Scorpion hit dead on the nail my thoughts when I read your thread. No Friggin Way. They have no backing. They are hunted around the globe. The are enemy number one. They are in no way shape or form going to or achieving any footing as a state. No country in the world would allow it.

ISIS video claims burning Jordanian pilot alive

A new video released by ISIS on Tuesday claimed to show the burning alive of First Lt. Moaz al-Kasasbeh, a Jordanian air force pilot.

Staff Writer, Al Arabiya News
Tuesday, 3 February 2015
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on Tuesday published video images allegedly showing the burning alive of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh, who was captured by the militant group in December after his fighter F-16jet crashed.

The Jordanian government confirmed ISIS had killed the captive pilot and said this had happened on Jan. 3, state television reported.

In a televised statement, Jordan’s armed forces vowed to avenge the killing of the pilot. “The blood of the martyr will not have been shed in vain and... vengeance will be proportional to this catastrophe that has struck all Jordanians,” said army spokesman General Mamduh al-Amiri.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s King Abdullah cut a visit to Washington following the news of the pilot's killing.

“His Majesty the King, the supreme commander of the armed forces, has cut his visit to the United States after the news of
the martyrdom of the hero pilot,” state television said.

The White House has said the U.S. intelligence community was working to authenticate the video and it condemned the militant group.

President Barack Obama said that if the video purporting to show the burning alive of a Jordanian pilot is authenticated, it just shows the organization's “barbarity.”

“Should in fact this video be authentic, it's just one more indication of the viciousness (and) barbarity of this organization,” Obama said, adding it would “redouble the vigilance and determination on the part of the global coalition to make sure” the ISIS group is “ultimately defeated.”

Earlier, the White House issued a statement saying: “The United States strongly condemns ISIL’s actions and we call for the immediate release of all those held captive by ISIL.”

“We stand in solidarity with the Government of Jordan and the Jordanian people,” White House spokeswoman Bernadette Meeha said.

ISIS had demanded the Jordanian government release Sajida al-Rishawi, a prisoner on death row for terror-related crimes, as part of a swap deal for the release of Kasasbeh. But Amman insisted on proof that the pilot was alive before any exchange.

@BLACKEAGLE @Ahmed JO

My condolences guys. May his brave soul rest in peace

This organization is revealing a dark side of humanity and all they are doing is showing how evil they are. I hope those who were considering joining or supporting them can see the truth, that these are inhumane people and that are not fighting for a just cause.
How the Jordanians are reacting is still unknown, some don't consider this their war, but perhaps now this will change their minds?

I have just read that this is exactly what they plan to do. At what cost though? The matter won't end here and ISIS are bound to have an even nastier trick up their sleeve in retaliation.

I think Jordan will take some other offensive measures against ISIS in the coming days.

Okay, I missed a few days of roaming around the forums and this is actually a bit surprising. I thought the Jordanian government already agreed on the release of the female suicide bomber in exchange for pilot? What ever happened to that?
